Karnataka PGCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for Karnataka PGCET 2021 Application Form to get admission in various PG courses candidates must go through the complete eligibility criterion given below:

General Eligibility:

  • Applying candidate must have domicile of Karnataka State.
  • Non- Karnataka candidates can apply but they can select only the seats surrendered by the management if any, for admission into MBA/ MCA.
  • Candidates appearing (last year)/ result awaited are also eligible to apply.

For MBA Programme (Full Time):

  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidate must have passed his/her Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have obtained minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all years of degree exam. In case of ST/SC and Category – I of Karnataka, qualifying marks will be 45%.

For MBA Programme (Part Time):

  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidate must have passed his/her Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have obtained minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all years of degree exam. In case of ST/SC and Category – I of Karnataka, qualifying marks will be 45%.
  • Work Experience: Candidate applying for Part Time MBA Programme must have worked in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the applying institution after obtaining the degree. Candidate must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2021.

For MCA Programme:

  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidate must have passed his/her Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • Qualifying Subjects: Candidate must have passed his/her Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics or Computer Science or Statistics or Computer Programming or Computer Applications or Business Statistics or Business Mathematics as one of the optional subjects.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have obtained minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all years of degree exam. In case of ST/SC and Category – I of Karnataka, qualifying marks are 45%.

For M.Tech/ M.E/ M.Arch Programme (Full Time):

  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidate must have passed his/her qualifying examination or equivalent prescribed by the Competent Authority.
  • Distance Mode Candidates: Students who have B.E degree through Distance Education mode are not eligible for admission into M.Tech.
  • Candidates passed the qualifying exam from Aeronautical Society of India and Associate Membership Examination of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication (AMIET) are not eligible for admission into M.Tech.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have obtained minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all years of degree exam. In case of ST/SC and Category – I of Karnataka, qualifying marks are 45%.
  • GATE Scores: Candidates can apply for admission into M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch through valid GATE Scores. Such candidates have to compulsorily enter application online but need not to appear for the PGCET exam.

For M.Tech/ M.E/ M.Arch Programme (Part Time):

  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidate must have passed his/her qualifying examination or equivalent prescribed by the Competent Authority.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have obtained minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all years of degree exam. In case of ST/SC and Category – I of Karnataka, qualifying marks are 45%.
  • Work Experience: Applying candidate must have worked in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the applying institution after obtaining the complete degree. Candidate must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2021.
