The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) organizes a national level scholarship program which is known as Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY). It is conducted to encourage students for pursuing a research career in the field of basic sciences.     KVPY Admit Card

    Candidates can download the KVPY admit card 2017 from the notification section. The admit card has been released on 15th October 2017. Candidates can download their admit card by using their registration number. There is no other mode to get the hall ticket.

    KVPY Exam Pattern

    • Date of Exam: The KVPY Exam will be held on 5th November 2017.
    • Exam Timing: The exam will be started from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM for Stream SA. For Stream SB/SX, the exam will begin from 2 PM to 5 PM.
    • Mode of Exam: The entrance exam will be organized in online mode.
    • Duration: The duration of the exam will be three hours.
    • Language: The medium of the question paper will be English & Hindi language.
    • Type of Questions: It is a multiple choice question paper.
    • Papers: The question paper divided into two parts: PART I & PART II.
    • Marks: The question paper will be 100 marks.

    KVPY Syllabus

    The KVPY syllabus 2017 comprises of the Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics subjects. No prescribed syllabus for entrance exam. The syllabus will contain the topics of the Class 10th/11th/12th/1st year of B. Sc/B. Stat./BS/B. Math./Int.M.Sc/MS.

    FAQ’s (Most Asked Questions)

    Answer: The KVPY registration was started from 16th July 2017. Candidates must apply through online mode only.
    Answer: Computer bases test is conducted using an easy-to-use portal on a computer. No prior experience with using computers is needed to opt for such a test. In fact, students who choose to take the computer based test will be directed to a web link that contains a mock aptitude test hosted on the same portal. This will allow them to get familiar with all features of the testing environment.
    Answer: There is no prescribed syllabus for the test. The written exam aims to test the understanding and analytical ability of the student than his/her factual knowledge.

    KVPY 2017 Result

    The KVPY result 2017 will be declared in the first week of December 2017. Candidates can check their KVPY result through online mode. Candidates can take the printout of the result for future use. Candidates will be shortlisted for the further process after the result declaration.

    Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is the conducting body which organizes Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY 2018). It is a national level fellowship programme. Through this exam, candidates will get scholarship upto pre-Ph.D level. The application form will be provided from the 2nd week of July 2018.

    KVPY 2017 Selection Procedure

    After the result announcement, the KVPY selection procedure 2017 will be started. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview round on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. After the completion of the aptitude test & interview process, the fellowship will be given to the successful candidates.

    KVPY 2017 Application Form

    • The KVPY Application Form 2017 was available through online mode from 16th July 2017.
    • The application form only issued through online mode.
    • No application was issued via offline mode
    • Candidates can fill the form till 23rd August 2017.
    • The last date for fee submission was 30th August 2017 (5 PM).

    Application Fee:

    • The application processing fee is Rs. 1000 (Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PwD Category).
    • Candidates have an option to submit the fee through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking or Challan.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The KVPY eligibility criteria are given here:

    • Candidates should be Indian Citizen.
    • For Stream SA, Candidates have to complete their 10th class with Science & Mathematics subjects. They have to secure at least 80% marks (70% marks for SC/ST/PwD) aggregate in the qualifying examination.
    • For Stream SX, Candidates have to pass 10th class with minimum 80% marks (70% for SC/ST/PwD) in aggregate in Mathematics & Science subjects. Candidates also have to qualify the 10+2 examination with Science subjects & secure at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD category) in aggregate.
    • For Stream SB, Candidates have to complete their 10+2 examination & obtain minimum 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PwD) in aggregate in Science Subjects. Candidates also have to pass their 1st year final examination & secure at least 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PwD).
