Admission Procedure

The admissions in Karnataka state medical & dental colleges will be offered through the national level exam. The candidates must appear in the entrance exam and participate in the counselling. Seats in the entrance exam will be allowed to candidates on the basis of rank.

For MBBS/BDS admission into various medical colleges of the country NEET scores will be considered. The postgraduate MD/MS courses will be offered through NEET PG exam.

Entrance Exams

Candidates those who wish to get admission in MBBS and BDS courses will be able to apply only through the national level entrance exam. There will be no entrance exam conducted by the state authorities and universities. NEET is a gateway to get admission in various specializations of UG medical courses. Candidates must also appear in INI CET entrance exam to get admission into these institutions and their associated campuses.

In Karnataka, there are many famous medical colleges those offer undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses. MBBS Admission 2023

No candidate will be allowed to appear in the written exam without fulfilling all the eligibilities which are given below. If any candidates found to be no-eligible at the time of admission, he/she will get disqualify from their candidature.

  • Candidate must belong to Indian national. OCI card holders will be also eligible to apply.
  • Applying candidate must pass their 12th or its equivalent examination from any recognized board.
  • The qualifying examination should be passed with minimum of 50% marks (40% for reserve category candidates) in PCB and English subjects.
  • Appearing candidates will be also eligible to apply.
  • The lower age limit to apply is 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years and 5 years of age relaxation for reserve categories.

Selection Procedure

NEET qualifying candidates will be able to participate in the counselling rounds for admission in the participating colleges. Candidates must fill their choices for the colleges during the counselling process. For 85% state quota seats, the state medical authority will conduct the counselling process.

It will be compulsory for the candidates to appear in the counselling rounds for seat allotment process. Candidates must confirm their seat by reporting to the assigned college and submit admission fee. If any document of any candidate find to be incomplete their admission will be cancelled at that particular moment.
