Latest NEET News: Results Temporarily Halted by Madras HC

Recently the Madras high court has said results for NEET 2025 should be on hold for the 13 candidates who took the exam at the Avadi examination centre near Chennai.

As per the candidates on the NEET exam day, it was raining heavily, and water came inside the exam center and the light was also gone. Due to this, in between the exam writing time, candidates were asked to sit in another classroom.

The shifting from one classroom to another holding the NEET answer sheet and OMR sheet has disturbed the children, and their time was also used. Till now, NTA has not said anything regarding this.

NEET Result 2025

Previously, Madhya Pradesh High Court’s Indore put the result for NEET 2025 on hold. The decision was taken due to issues faced by the candidates. While taking the exam, aspirants faced a power outage incident at the PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 examination center.

A plea was filed by a medical aspirant that there was a power outage in his center. The NEET UG exam time was from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM. In the PM, Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 centre aspirants faced a power outage at 3.30 pm.

As per the students, there was no backup, and they had to write the paper in dim light. The faculty at the examination center around 4:30 arranged candles for the candidates only half an hour was left to complete the exam.

For the NEET UG results in 2025 next hearing, the court has put a stay. There is no clarity now that the hold is announced for all the NEET 2025 aspirants, or if it is for a specific center, city, or area.

The court ordered that the NTA and Union of India “have failed to provide proper conditions to the petitioner, who was appearing in NEET-UG examination, which was held on 04.05.2025, and was prevented due to power failure in various parts of the city, it is directed that till the next date of hearing, the result shall not be declared by the NTA”, the reports read.

The petitions read that candidates are appealing for a re-exam or remedial measure to ensure fair assessment for MBBS and BDS admissions. In answer to this, the NTA officially said that the result of NEET will not be kept on hold for all the candidates only for the affected candidates will the result be on hold.

The Ministry of Education’s high-level committee, following last year’s Supreme Court order, recommended conducting the exam as a computer-based test (CBT), but the NEET UG 2025 was conducted in pen and paper format.

  3. The process of thumb impression is probably done to avoid exchange of student appearing in the exam . Often false candidates appear in exam . If the impression is taken after 1 hour then in rest 2 hrs even if the candidate is exchange you cannot do magic. But having said so I definitely feel that the thumb impression checking should be at the entry gate itself . Moreover there is 30 mins gap in the entry and distribution of paper. Neet UG must must must go for online exam.
