Admission to various UG Engineering programs will be given through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) test. Admission will be given based on the merit of 12th level examination.

Qualified candidates in admission procedure will get admission into various Government and Govt. Aided Colleges, affiliated colleges of Anna University and Self -Financing Colleges of Tamil Nadu.

TNEA 2026 Registration 

Application details related to TNEA 2026 is provided below: 

• TNEA 2026 registration will be started from the first week of May 2026 for B.E/B.tech courses under Single Window Admission System. 
• Candidates will be able to complete the registration through online mode, no offline mode will be provided. 
• Before filling the form, candidates must fulfill the complete eligibility criteria from below. 
• Personal details, academic qualifications, communicational information, etc will be the details required during registration. 
• Candidates must be careful while filling the application form, as there will be no correction facility provided to edit the form. 
• After filing the form, upload the scanned photograph and signature in prescribed format to avoid rejection. 
• The last date to submit the application form will be till the first week of June 2026. 
• After submitting the form, do not forget to take a hardcopy of the application form for further usage. 

Application Fee: 

• TNEA 2026 registration fee will be submitted through online as well as offline both the modes. 
• Online facility such as credit card/debit card/ net banking/ UPI gateways will be available. 
• For offline method, candidates will submit the fee Through Demand Draft in favor of “The Secretary, TNEA” payable at Chennai

TNEA 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Nativity:

• Those candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu & Passed 8th to 12th standard exam from any school of Tamil Nadu will apply. 
• Tamil Nadu Natives who have passed 8th to 12th standard exam or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside will also apply. 
• Childrens of Central Government Employees and their parents are serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years preceding the date of submitting of registration. 
• Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognised Institutions in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years, irrespective of their domicile will apply. 
• All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers sons and daughters will also be eligible to apply. 
• Candidates of Non-Residents of Tamil Nadu who have studied 8th to 12th standard exam from any school situated in Tamil Nadu will also be eligible to apply. 

Education Qualification: 

Here we have mentioned the course wise eligibility criteria:

For Marine Engineering: 

• Qualification: Candidates must pass 12th intermediate or equivalent from any recognized board will apply. 
• Age Limit: The maximum age limit of candidates must be 25 years to apply. 
• Marks: Candidates must obtain at least 60% marks in PCM and 50% marks in English to apply. 
• Subject: In qualifying exam, candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as a compulsory subject to apply. 

For Other Courses: 

• Qualification: To be eligible, candidates must have passed 11th/ 12th standard from any recognised board. 
• Marks: Candidates must secure at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of BC/ MBC & DN/ SC/ ST/ SCA) category candidates. 
• Subjects: Applying candidates must have passed the qualifying examination with PCM as a mandatory subject.

How to Apply for TNEA 2026 

Candidates can check complete steps below to apply for TNEA 2026: 

• Visit the website of TNEA (Link will be given above).
• Press the “New Registration” button and proceed to the next step. 
• Initially, register yourself by entering the basic information. 
• Click on the “Save” button and validate the OTP sent on the registered ID and number. 
• Now login using the allotted email ID and password after successful registration. 
• Click on the “Click here for B.E/ B.Tech Registration” button. 
• Start filling the application form with details such as personal, qualifications and address details. 
• Upload the required documents such as photograph and signature in JPG/ JPEG or PNG format. 
• Photograph & signature must be uploaded between 20KB to 50 KB & each document must be uploaded in between 150 KB to 1 MB. 
• Click on the “Confirm/ Freeze” button and proceed to pay the application fee. 
• Pay the application fee as per your category through available payment options. 
• Recheck the filled details in the form and press the “Submit” button. 
• A confirmation page will appear on the screen. 
• Do not forget to take a PDF printout of submitted application form for further references.
