TS LAWCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

TS LAWCET 2025 is conducted for 2 different courses; one is of 3 year LLB course and other is 5 year Integrated law course. Eligibility criteria is quite different for both courses. Apart from all these there are some common eligibility criteria.

A candidate appearing for degree/ intermediate/ LLB examination may apply for anticipation in the result. Also, they must have qualified the given test at the time of counselling. Let’s discuss below for the entire eligibility criteria:

Nationality/ Residence:

  • The candidate must be the citizen of India national and also a residence of Telangana state.
  • The residential status will be account as per the state government norms.
  • The candidate must satisfy the local/non-local status.

Age Criteria:

  • As per the Honourable Supreme Court directions, there is no age limit for LLB (3 year and 5 year) courses.

Qualification Criteria:

For LLB 3 Years Course:

Qualifying Examination: The candidates must be passed a three year graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university.

Appearing Status: Candidates appearing the last year of their UG degree can also apply. Appearing candidates must have to clear their final year of UG course in year 2025.

Minimum Marks Required: The candidates belonging to general category must have secured minimum 45% marks; 42% marks for OBC & 40% for ST/SC in their UG programmes.

If student fails to score minimum marks in graduation then he/she is required to pass any additional graduation or post graduation with the same minimum qualifying marks.

5% marks relaxation is provided to the students belonging to ST/SC category.

Candidates qualifying the degree through open university are not eligible to apply as per the norms.

For LLB 5 Years Course:

Qualifying Examination: The candidates must be passed the Intermediate exam or any other examination equivalent to intermediate from the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education or any other recognized Board of India.

Appearing Status: Candidates appearing the last year of their +2 examination can also apply. Appearing candidates must have to clear their final year Intermediate in year 2025.

Minimum Marks Required: The candidates belonging to General category must have secured minimum of 45% marks; 42% marks for OBC & 40% for ST/SC in their intermediate. 5% marks relaxation is provided to the students belonging to ST/Sc category.

    I am not a resident of Telangana & i am a native of Karnataka. And now i have 585 rank…at the time when i wrote the exam i was under the impression that non local means outsider! But now their rules on eligibility wrt non local says your parents must be from Telangana, OR your parents not from Telangana but workings in Telangana, OR the candidate must be residing in Telangana for so & so years…so can i apply for counselling?

    1. The candidates must be passed the 12th exam or any other equivalent from the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education or any other recognized Board of India.

  3. I have passed inter 2012 and now 28 year ,i passed DEle Ded, can i eligible for 5 years law course
