VITMEE Counselling 2026
The shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview after the declaration of result. The time and date for the interview round are informed by the university on their website. Candidates are also notified through SMS on candidate’s registered mobile number.
The counselling will be held through the online mode. The candidate should produce the admit card at the time of interview. Shortlisted candidates will have to pay counselling fee at the time of counselling.
The counselling will be conducted for the VIT University in Chennai and Vellore campuses. Candidates will have to login through their IDs and submit the choices as per the rank. The university will also releases the merit list in which names of the qualified candidates are mentioned.
During the VITMEE Admission procedure, candidates have to select their preference of campus and branch and required to pay Rs. 1 lakh in advance. Those candidates who fail to pay the advance before the deadline, will not be considered for admission.
Selected candidates can participate in online counselling base on their ranking. They can give option for specific academic qualification eligibility, campus, programme and category fees. Allotment will be based on the rank obtained, preference given. Candidates will have to bring the documents for verification to the campus.
Counselling will be held in one phase. The rank, choice entry will be available in the counselling portal. Those applicants who fail to appear in counselling will not eligible for seat allotment. Those who have selected campus/ programme/ fee category, the allotment will be based on VITMEE rank. Once the seat is allotted the provisional admission letter will be available in the portal.
VITMEE Counselling Schedule 2026
VITMEE 2026 Counselling will be started from May 2026 through online mode. It will be mandatory to attend for every exam-qualified candidate. The counselling procedure will be held in more than one round if seats remain vacant after the first round.

- After the declaration of result, the authority release the merit list for the candidates.
- Candidates whose names appear in the merit list are only eligible for the counselling session.
- GATE qualified candidates are able to appear directly in the counselling with their GATE 2026 score card.
- If any candidate are unable to pay the fee, then his/her name will be removed from the admission list. The counselling fee is non-refundable and can be adjusted in the tuition fee at the time of admission.
- Candidates have to login to the website of VITMEE and check their rank.
- Read all the instructions carefully before proceeding with online counselling.
- Fill in your choices of preferred course, campus, and category as per the rank.
- Seats will be allotted to candidates as per their rank and filled choices.
- Once the seats are allotted to the candidate they cannot be changed further. With allotment letter candidates are able to report to the allotted college and get admission.
Documents required at the time of Counselling
Candidates have to bring these documents along with one set of Xerox copy on the counselling day. Without verification of the documents, candidates will not be allowed for admission. Candidate must present themselfs along with given below documents to attend the offline counselling.
- 10th & 12th Mark Sheet
- Qualifying degree (if received)
- Marksheet of all semesters
- Transfer/Migration/College Leaving Certificate
- Admission letter and a photocopy of the programme fee receipt
- 4 colored recent passport size photographs
- Valid GATE Scorecard (if available)
- Community Certificate (only for SC/ST categories)
- Conduct Certificate (Original)
- Service Certificate issued by the Employer (for sponsored candidates)
- Nativity Certificate (for Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Northeastern States)
- Physical Fitness Certificate
All the candidates who are taking part in the upcoming VITMEE 2026 session counselling should note that registration of those will be cancelled who fail to bring any of the required documents or if any of the documents will be found false or incorrect.
