Imayam Institute of Agriculture & Technology (IIAT), Trichy
Imayam Institute of Agriculture & Technology (IIAT), Trichy was started in 2013 at Kannanur, Thuraiyur taluk of Trichy district, Tamil Nadu. The institution is providing education for student as well as research for the empowerment of rural people and farmers. The institute is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore and approved by UGC & ICAR.
Campus
The campus of the institution comprises of administrative blocks, academic blocks, numbers of departments, faculties, students and infrastructure. The campus is located near the national highway. The institution is easily accessible through bus/train/air transport. The college Campus is also well-connected to other places in the state.
Facilities
The IIAT has state-of-art facilities in its campus. The institution has ventilated classrooms, well-equipped laboratory facility, AV lab with modern facilities, orchard, B class meteorological observatory, agro-forestry/woodlot, internet connectivity, conference hall for conducting seminar, well-organized library and e-library, separate hostel for girls and boys and placement cell.
Programmes
In the institution there are numbers of departments for various programmes of study. The institution has departments such as crop management, crop improvement, crop protection, social science, horticulture, agriculture engineering, agricultural biotechnology, environmental science and microbiology. In agriculture the institution offers bachelor of agriculture with four year of duration. The course offered by the institution in agriculture is given below:

Placement
In IIAT, the placement activities are carried out by the placement cell which facilitates the training activities of the students so that they can better placed in national or international companies. The key objective of the cell is to organize campus interviews for outgoing students with leading industries. To prepare students to face campus interview by arranging training in mock interviews, aptitude tests, group discussions and preparing for HR interviews with leading HR trainers.
