Osmania University, Hyderabad

Osmania University, Hyderabad is the public University came into existence in the year 1918. It is the oldest University located in Hyderabad. The University is accredited ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has the recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC). There are 8 colleges with 53 departments situated within the main campus of the University. It offers education in the field of management, engineering, law, arts and social sciences, etc.

Campus

The huge campus of Osmania University has been constructed over 1600 acres of land. The University campus is situated in Hyderabad which is the capital city of Indian state Telangana. The University campus is well-connected by roads and various modes of transportation.

Facilities

The University has dedicated moot court hall, well equipped computer labs, Wi-Fi enabled campus, library building, etc. The Library has rich collection of books and journals for learning and research. It has a fully equipped guest house situated behind the University’s Main Library building. Health centre is also available in University campus that provides free medical treatment to the students. There is a spacious auditorium available for hosting cultural and academic events. Besides these, the University also provides banking and post office facility.

Programme

Osmania University runs 8 colleges in its main campus. It has the College of Law that offers law courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In addition to this, the college also runs one-year Postgraduate Diploma in two specializations. All the law courses run under the guidelines of Bar Council of India (BCI). Law courses run by the College of Law of Osmania University are as follows:

  • LL.M.

PG Diploma Courses:

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws (PGDCL)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation and Insurance Laws (PGDTIL)

Admission

Admission to the LL.B. programme offered by the University will be done through entrance examination namely Law Common Entrance Examination (LAWCET). To take admission in the LL.M. programme, aspirants are required to qualify PGLCET examination conducted every year in the State.
