University of Calcutta, Kolkata
The University of Calcutta (Informally known as Calcutta University or CU) was established on 24 January 1857. It is a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was the first institution in Asia to be established as a multidisciplinary and secular Western-style university. The university is affiliated with UGC, NAAC and AIU. It is approved by the Indian Council for Agriculture Research. The Kolkata University offered many courses in various disciplines.
Campus
The university has a total of 14 campuses spread over the city of Kolkata. The campus is located in Senate House, 87/1 College Street, Kolkata. There are different departments in this university. There are individual laboratories for each department. The instrumentation room is also available in the college campus. The library of the university covers the large set of the journals, e journals and thesis.
