JEE Main Exam Update: National Testing Agency started the JEE Main 2026 application process on 31 October 2025. The first step for every aspirant is self-registration on the official website.
Once this step is completed, the system generates your JEE Main Application Number, which serves as your unique login ID for the entire admission process. After receiving the Application Number, candidates must create their login password.
JEE Main 2026 Application Number and Password will be used for every future activity, including form correction, admit card download, checking the result, viewing the scorecard, and later, even during counselling.
However, many candidates either forget their passwords later or misplace them while moving between devices or browsers. To help candidates, NTA provides official methods to recover or reset their JEE Main password.
How to Reset Your JEE Main Password
You can choose any one of the following official password recovery options:
- Reset Using Security Question
If you remember the Security Question and Answer that you selected while filling out the form, you can use this option. Enter your answer to verify your identity and create a new password. - Reset Using SMS Verification
A one-time verification code will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the code on the password reset page to set a new password. Reset Using Email Link
A password reset link will be sent to your registered email ID. Open your email, click on the link, and follow the steps to create a new password.

Once you reset your JEE Main login password, write it down somewhere you won’t forget your phone notes, a diary, or wherever you trust. You’re going to need these login details again, so don’t lose them.
NTA JEE Main 2026 Session 1 is scheduled between 21 to 30 January 2026, and Session 2 will be held between 2 to 9 April 2026. And remember the last date to apply is 27 November 2025.
