JEE Mains 2026 April Registration will begin in February 2026. Candidates interested in registration must be aware of various details regarding application form filling, fee submission, dates, etc. This complete article on JEE Main Registration 2026 discusses all about the exam and its registration/ application process.

JEE Main Registration 2026

For Session 1 (January), JEE Main application 2026 will be available from October to December 2025. Official exam dates have been announced by NTA for Session 1 & 2. Students will be required Aadhaar & various other documents as prescribed below to complete the application procedure.

JEE application 2026 must be filled before the prescribed last date as no further extensions will be provided later. Already registered candidates and appeared for Session 1 need not register again for Session 2. Such candidates can just login with their previous Application number & password and then proceed to pay fee, choose paper, exam medium & city choice.

Note: Multiple submission of forms by a student will not be accepted and will lead to cancellation of result.

Documents required for JEE Registration 2026:

Before approaching to register for JEE Main 2026, applicants must make sure to have these documents:

  • 10th / 12th level certificates
  • Category certificate (if required)
  • Scanned image of photograph/ signature (as per format/ size)
  • Fee Payment mode/ details (Credit card/ debit card/ UPI or net banking details), etc.

  • JEE Mains Registration fee 2026 can be submitted online only. No offline methods are described.
  • Candidates must carefully make fee payment as it is non -refundable under any circumstances.
  • Online Methods to pay JEE Application fee includes – net banking, credit card/ debit card/ UPI Card using SBI/ Canara/ ICICI/ HDFC online gateway payment.

JEE Main Correction Window 2026

After successful submission of applications, NTA opens a correction window for the correction in particulars of application. This opportunity is provided for a limited time of 2 or 3 days. After that, no extensions are provided in correction facility.

JEE Main Application Correction facility 2026 will be provided in December 2025 for Session 1. Candidates must pay additional fees wherever applicable through the concerned payment method. For Session 2, it will open in 1st– 2nd week of March 2026.

The authority also notifies about the discrepancy in image uploaded by students in JEE Application. Students are provided a certain time limit to re-upload images according to specifications.

  • Qualification: Students passed 12th level or its equivalent are eligible to apply.
  • Qualifying Year: The qualifying exam / 12th level must be passed in the year 2024, 2025, or appearing in the year 2026.

JEE Main 2026 Aadhaar Authentication

Students, while registering for JEE Main 2026 are required to select the method of authentication. At the time of application process, candidates need to enter their name as it appears on their Aadhaar card.

Candidates need to select option whether they want to authenticate through their Aadhaar card or through a valid Govt ID with photograph at the exam centre. Earlier, NTA discontinued the facility of registration through Digi-locker/ PAN/ Passport number, etc.

In case of a mismatch between name of candidate in Aadhaar and name in educational certificate, he/ she must update their Aadhaar card to avoid any issue during registration.

How to Register for JEE Main 2026

Check below complete step by step procedure for JEE Main Registration 2026:

  • Go to the online website – (Link will be given above)
  • Generate application number by registering on online website.
  • Create password & choose security code.
  • Register by filling in the asked details, after which the system will generate login details that you can use to log in to both sessions of JEE Mains 2026.
  • Login and start filling the application form by entering personal details, choice of paper, choice of exam centre/ cities, entering educational qualification details, etc.
  • Next candidates need to upload the images /documents per the mentioned format and size.
  • Candidates need to upload his/ her photograph (10kb-300kb in JPEG/JPG), signature (10kb-50kb in JPEG/JPG).
  • The candidate must colour the photograph, which must be recently clicked with 80% of the face visible. The candidate must upload the scanned copy of the Class X certificate (10kb- 300kb) and the category certificate PDF (10kb-300kb) properly.
  • At the end, candidates need to pay JEE Main application fee only through online modes like debit card/ credit card/ net banking, or other payment gateways.
  • Students must not forget to download the confirmation page at the end and print it. Downloading of confirmation page is important as it ensures the completion of registration process.

Status of JEE Main 2026 Registration form

After successful filling of JEE Mains 2026 Application Form, the system will send confirmation of application submission to the candidate’s registered email ID. Also, candidates can check the status of their application by logging in to their account.

The status of application will show as ‘Application Submitted’ if the authority has accepted the application form. If you do not submit the application, then the status will show pending, and you should continue with the next steps to submit the application form.

How to Retrieve Lost JEE Main Application Number 2026?

If candidates have lost or forgotten their JEE Main 2026 Application number or password, they can get it back by following some steps –

  • Visit the official website
  • Click on ‘Forgot Application number’ or ‘forgot password’.
  • Follow instructions as asked and provide required details to retrieve the application number or password.

Answer: Yes, candidates not applying for Session 1 need to freshly apply for Session 2 according to the schedule.

Answer: Yes, filling and submitting more than one application form will be treated as UFM (unfair means). Strict actions will be taken if found at later stage.

Answer: No, online application once submitted cannot be withdrawn/ cancelled.

Answer: In such case, candidate must check if the fee payment is successful or not. If cancelled, students have to make another payment/ transaction to generate confirmation page.

Answer: You need to approach the bank for refund of amount and make another fee payment online.

Answer: You cannot re-upload images after submission of form. However, you can re-edit images when the authority will open the image correction window.
