JEE Main Exam Update: For the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026, the National Testing Agency has released a photo mismatch advisory at jeemain.nta.nic.in
NTA has provided details regarding the last date to upload certificate for JEE Main 2026 photograph mismatch issue in the advisory.
The JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip for session 1 exam is awaited. As of now no confirmed date for city slip and admit card is released but the link to download exam city slip will be available soon on the official website.
JEE Main 2026 Solutions for Photograph Mismatch
NTA has recently released a notification stating about the mismatch of Photographs with the submitted Id Proof Documents for JEE Main 2026 Registration.
The advisory informs that ‘‘Live photograph captured by certain candidates at the time of application process has not matched with the photographs as per records available with UIDAI. An opportunity has been provided to such affected candidates to verify their identity by uploading a signed attested certificate with a recent photograph duly certified by school/ college principal or headmaster.”

Last date to submit certificate in PDF format via link sent to registered email ID is 15th January 2026. Additionally on the exam day, students have to produce a printed copy of same at the exam centre for physical verification
JEE Main 2026 Solutions for Aadhaar Name Mismatch
The NTA’s advisory says that every year, as lakhs of candidates fill the JEE Main registration form and the authority is working towards making the process easy for aspirants.
“To facilitate active participation of a large number of candidates in JEE (Main) 2026, NTA is working towards increasing the number of cities for a wider approach and ease of engineering aspirants. Furthermore, special attention is being given to address the requirements and needs of PwD/PwBD candidates appearing in the Examination.
To minimize the procedural difficulties of JEE (Main) – 2026 aspirants while filling the online application form, the National Testing Agency had issued a public notice on 29 September 2025. The primary objective of issuing this advisory was to support lakhs of aspirants across the country by encouraging timely and accurate updation.
Forgot Your JEE Main 2026 Password? Use These Official Recovery Options
NTA will be obtaining Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Photograph, and Address from UIDAI through Aadhaar Authentication (for updation in Aadhaar, please follow UIDAI guidelines). However, since Father/Mother/Guardian’s name, etc., is not recorded in Aadhaar, candidates would have to fill such details separately in the online application form.
In case of name mismatch in the Aadhaar Card and 10th Educational Certificate/Marksheet of any candidate, an option will be given to overcome this issue during the online application stage. They may also refer to the NTA Public Notice dated 06 November 2024, which is available at JEE(Main) Website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in on “Advisory and Instructions on Aadhaar Card Name Mismatch while filling up application form for JEE (Main) 2025” which will also be applicable for JEE (Main) – 2026.
For the JEE Main 2026 session, the main aim of the NTA is to make the registration process easier and smoother. JEE Main 2026 session 1 registration form was released on 31st October 2025, and the last date to apply was 27th November 2025.
NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2026 session 1 between 21st – 30th January 2026 and JEE Main 2026 session 2 between 02nd – 09th April 2026. The mode of exam is going to be a computer-based test.

I got the adhaar photo and name mismatch in registration of jee mains. But I am having the recently updated adhaar card which is matching to 10th marksheet. Now the NTA announced the option to upload an attested certificate with recent photograph, verified by one of the authorities for adhaar card mismatch. Be informed that the advisory is applicable only to students who have done Non-Aadhaar Id proof registration and the candidates who have received an email from NTA regarding photo mismatch.

You can still fill your JEE Main application form as per your 10th mark sheet.
My name in 10th marksheet is Akshini P M, updated in aardhar card same as found in the marksheet. and my e-aardhar is available from 21-aug-2025. but still I get name mismatch.. when my name is already updated in UIDAI website. where can I mention IN THE APPLICATION form in that I applied for correction and UPDATION DONE e-Aardhar
You can’t note Aadhaar correction in the JEE form. Wait for the updated details to sync. If the mismatch doesn’t resolve, the NTA helpdesk is the only way to fix it.
My name is G. Naga Surya Tanish in tenth certificate and G. NagaSury Tanish in aadhar.
There is no space between Naga and Surya in aadhar. And I applied and it is submitted and got acknowledgement.
Will it be problem in future
Since the Aadhaar has no space, minor discrepancies may arise. It’s best to contact NTA to confirm if this name difference could cause any issues.
I have applied for aadhaar updations, yet to receive the updated aadhaar, still I proceeded with JEE application form. Is there any issue?
Kindly only proceed with the updated details in your aadhaar and class 10th marksheet. Make sure you get it updated and fill application before the last date.
Dear sir, Greetings, my 10th mark sheet and adhaar shows my name as AMIRTHAVARSHINI M but while filling the application i wrote AMIRTHAVARSHINI only i forget to put my initial M. NTA has provided an option in JEE Main 2026 application to correct name mismatch between Aadhaar & Class 10 certificate. Name correction is usually allowed during correction window for newly registered candidates. If the correction option does not appear in your form, you may need to contact authority.
