Admission Procedure

The admission in medical colleges of Punjab is done on the basis of national level entrance examination known as NEET.

It is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency). NEET-UG is conducted for admission to MBBS programme and NEET PG for admission in MD/MS programmes.

Entrance Exams

There is one national level entrance exam which is conducted for admission in medical courses in any state medical colleges.

NEET is an entrance exam through which candidates can get admission in any college exist in the state or all over the India.

Candidates should appear in this exam to get admission top colleges of Punjab. On qualifying the entrance exam candidates can get admission in MBBS/BDS courses.

Punjab MBBS/BDS Admission 2019

The given below eligibility criteria is to appear in the NEET entrance examination. The candidates those will meet theses eligibilities will be only consider for the allotment of seats.

  • Candidate must be the citizen of Indian. OCI candidates are also eligible to apply.
  • The lower age of the candidate to apply is 17 years as on 31st December 2019.
  • The upper age is 25 years for general and 30 years for SC/ST/OBC categories.
  • Candidates should pass the 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subject from any recognized board.
  • In the qualifying exam, the candidate should have obtained 50% minimum marks (40% for reserved category candidates).
  • Candidates those are in intermediate can also apply.

Selection Procedure

Candidates can participate in the counselling after appearing in the NEET exam. Candidates will be invited for counselling process as per their performance in the entrance exam after the announcement of the written result.

In the counselling procedure, candidates have to choose the colleges as per their preference where they are looking for admission.

The seats will be allotted to the candidates according to the candidate rank, filled choices and availability of the seats.

After seat allotment process, candidates have to report at the allotted college/institution to complete admission process.

Candidates have to bring these original certificates along with one set of Xerox copy for participating in the counselling.

      For admission in 85% quota seats in Punjab medical colleges, she should have either domicile of Punjab state or should study 10+1 and 10+2 form Punjab.
