The University provides part-time & full-time Ph.D. programmes in the field of Engineering, arts, commerce, science, etc. Candidates should check eligibility before filling Pondicherry University 2023 Application Form. The eligibility criteria for PG, Ph.D. & PG diploma course given below:
For PG Courses & PG Diploma:

| M.Tech (Network & Internet Engineering) | Pass B.Tech/BE degree. OR Pass M.Sc degree. OR Pass MCA degree. Secure minimum 55% marks. |
| M.Tech (Nano Science & Technology/ Green Energy Technology/ Environmental Engineering & Management) | Pass B.Tech/BE degree. OR Pass M.Sc degree. Secure minimum 55% marks. |
| MBA (Banking Technology) | Pass Bachelor’s degree. OR Pass B.Com degree. Secure minimum 55% marks. |
| MBA (Business Administration/ Insurance Management/ International Business/ Tourism) | Pass Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Secure minimum 50% marks. |
| MCA | Pass Bachelor’s degree. Secure minimum 55% marks. |
| LLM | Pass 3/5 years LLB/BL degree with not less than 50% marks(45% in case of SC/ ST) in the aggregate. |

PG Diploma Courses: | |
| Food Safety and Quality Assurance in Food Industry | Pass M.Sc (Food Science and Nutrition / Food Science and Technology / Biotechnology/ Microbiology) OR Pass M.Tech (Food Technology / Biotechnology) with minimum of 55% Marks. OR Pass B.Tech (Food Technology / Biotechnology) with at least 2 years of experience in Food Industry. OR Pass B.Tech (Food Technology) with two-year P.G. Diploma (Food Technology) |
| Green Energy Technology | Pass BE/B.Tech (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics, Chemical or Biotechnology) OR Pass M.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Nano-science or Photonics with Chemistry and Mathematics at B.Sc level) with at least 55% marks. |
| Criminology & Forensic Science | Pass Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 55% marks. |
For Integrated Courses (through CUET):

Qualification Criteria:
- Qualifying Exam: The basis eligibility criteria for Ph.D. courses will be qualified Master’s or equivalent degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education (or 10+2+5) from a recognized University.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above qualifying exam with 55% marks.

| Bioinformatics | Pass Master’s degree in Bioinformatics/ Life Sciences/ Computer Science/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Applied Mathematics/ Statistics/ IT & Engineering or any other relevent areas with a minimum of 55% of marks. |
| Biochemistry & Molecular Biology | Pass Master’s degree in Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology or in any other related areas with a minimum of 55% of marks. |
| Biotechnology | Pass Master’s degree in Agriculture/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Botany/ Microbiology/ Veterinary Science/ Zoology or in any other related areas with minimum of 55% marks. |
| Commerce | Pass Master’s degree in Commerce with a minimum of 55% of marks. |
| Computer Science & Engineering | Pass ME/ M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering/ Network and Internet Engineering or Information Technology. OR MCA/ MS/ M.Sc in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Software Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 55% of marks. |
| Chemistry | Pass Master’s degree in chemistry/Chemical Sciences and any other related areas. Candidates wishing to apply for the fields of Physical Chemistry should have studied mathematics at +2 level and of theoretical Chemistry should have studied allied mathematics at B.Sc. level. For organic and inorganic chemistry fields, mathematics at +2/B.Sc level is not mandatory with 55% of marks. |

Note: Candidates who have qualified for JRF(UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/DBT-BINC) are exempted from entrance exam. They can apply directly.
