Thapar University 2026 Counselling
Thapar University counselling process will be organized after the results declaration and release of merit list. The counselling process is held through online/ offline mode. Candidates must check the complete details of counselling process from the University portal.

Thapar University 2026 Merit List
After the declaration of Thapar University 2026 Results, the University releases merit list on the website. The merit list contains names of the candidates who will successfully qualify for the written test with the minimum qualifying marks.
To check the merit list no login details will be required as it will be released in pdf format. Candidates are also advised to save the merit list till the admission process is over.

Thapar University 2026 Counselling Procedure
TIET (Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology) offers admission in B.Tech courses through merit of JEE Main or 10+2 or equivalent exam and TIET entrance test. Thapar University 2026 Counselling will be held through online/offline (In Person). It will be commenced after the publish of merit list.
BE/ BTech counselling schedule will be announced on the website once the JEE Main-2026/ 10+2 results are declared. Branch allocation in online round of counselling will be as per the merit category wise set availability and branch preference order filled in application form.
On Roll Candidates (ORC) are those who have deposited the full fee and have not withdrawn their seats. Candidates-Not-On-Roll (CNOR) are those who have withdrawn their seats after depositing full fee. While allotting branch/ discipline in the online rounds of counselling (2nd/3rd/4th and so on lists), only ORC and candidates not offered seats shall be considered in all the subsequent lists on the basis of merit.
The allotment of discipline will be made on the basic of the seats available in a particular discipline and category, the order of preference for various discipline given by the candidates, and his/her merit. Candidates depositing total fee must enter complete details in ‘Fee Confirmation-Slip’ (FCS) available at the Institute website on or before the respective prescribed last date.
The admission given shall be provisional only. The list of documents required at the time of in-person counselling is provided below.

TIET will be offering merit scholarship to all eligible lateral entry admitted candidates as per the following details.

Candidates’ admission will be cancelled if the required documents are not submitted within the given time or find to be false or incorrect. Document verification plays an important role in the counselling process. Candidates are advised to collect all the documents before taking part in the counselling session.
