The examination is being organised two times in a year in the months of January and April. For Session 1, JEE Main 2026 is scheduled between 21st and 29th January 2026. The allotment of exam centre, exam date & shifts is released by online mode.

How to Check JEE Main Centres 2026

During the application form filling process, candidates are required make a choice of 4 exam cities, out of which they get the exam centres for the JEE Main 2026 examination. The city allotted to students is mentioned in the city intimation slip. Whereas, students get complete details of exam centre through the admit card only.

A different city is allotted only in case of any administrative /logistic reasons, but utmost efforts are made to allot a city according to the choice of candidate.

Steps to Check Allotted JEE Exam Centre

Follow the below steps to check your allotted JEE main exam centre 2026 mentioned in the admit card:

• Visit the online website of NTA JEE Main.
• Click on the option provided provided to download JEE Main admit card 2026
• Next enter your login details.
• Now the admit card will be displayed on which the exam centre will be mentioned along with exact address of centre.
• Download your admit card.

After that, the candidates get to know the allotted exam city & centre with proper address, which is released by the NTA. Choice of Centre cities is limited to state of permanent address or state of present address only.

Candidates have to just visit the website and log in with their ID with application number, and password. The allotted exam date, shift, and centre will be given there. The list of merged/removed centres of JEE Main 2026 is given below.

This year, total 33 new exam centres have been added in the list and seven exam cities have been removed/ merged. Last year in 2025, there was 299 exam centres and for JEE Main 2026 there are total 323 exam centres. No changes has been seen in foreign exam centres.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Date, Shifts & Timing

Apart from the allotted JEE Main exam centres, the NTA announces the exam dates and shifts for the registered candidates. The JEE Main 2026 exam is organised via online (computer based mode) in two sessions – Session 1 and Session 2.

Candidates can login and see the allotted exam dates and shifts of their examination. It is conducted in two shifts – noon shift and evening shift.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card

NTA will upload JEE Main 2026 admit card in 3rd week of January 2026 for the 1st session and for session 2 from 4th week of March 2026 onwards. The admit card is released by online mode. Before release of admit card, the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip is released for which candidates have to login to check allotted exam city.

The admit card contains all the above-given details like exam city & centre, exam date & shift, name and other details of candidates and paper for appearing.

Candidates must check the particulars and details of admit card just after downloading, so that if any discrepancy or missing detail is found in the admit card, they can inform the NTA.

JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines

On the exam day, candidates must follow the rules and regulations that the authorities will give either on the lower half or the back side of the admit card.

Candidates will have to carry their coloured printed admit card along with a valid photo ID card to the exam centre. The school bans any type of electronic gadget like a mobile phone, a smart watch, a calculator, a fitness band, or similar things and objects.

To summarise, JEE Main Exam Centres 2026 list can be viewed by students in the brochure. To avoid any confusion, students must locate their centres and make arrangement before the exam. On the day of exam, students should leave for the exam centre timely so as they can reach before the closing of gates.
