IIST 2026 Eligibility Criteria

UG Courses:

• Nationality: Individuals those are India citizens or holding OCI/PIO cards will be eligible to apply.
• Age Limit: Applicants  must be born on or after 1st October 2001 to be eligible to apply. A relaxation of 5 years will be applicable for reserved category students.
• Qualification: Students must have completed 12th standard or its equivalent from a recognized board.
• Marks: Applicants need to have secured a minimum of 75% marks in their 12th standard (65% for reserved categories).
• Mandatory Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in the 12th standard, along with any one language subject.
• Scorecard: Students must hold a valid scorecard of JEE Advanced 2026 exam to apply for IIST 2026 Admission.

PG Courses:

• Age Limit: Candidate’s upper age must be 32 years and 45 years ISRO/DOS sponsored candidates as on 2nd May 2026.
• Qualification: Candidates must possess a BE, B.Tech, M.Sc, or an equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• Marks: Aspirants must obtain at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST and PwD category) in their qualifying degree.
• Scores: Eligible students will be required to possess a valid scorecard from JEST/ GATE exam to apply.

IIST 2026 Rank List 

IIST Admission/ Rank List 2026 will be released via online mode for students who will successfully submit their registration form. The rank list for Undergraduate & Postgraduate courses will be issued in third week of June 2026.

Rank List will be released category wise based on aggregate scores obtained in national level examination, subject to meeting the minimum qualifying marks. After the release of admission list, students will be required to specify their preferences for different branches.

IIST 2026 Cut Off

After the result announcement, the institute will display the IIST cut off 2026 through online mode. The cut off will be the least possible score required for shortlisting eligible candidates in the admission list.
