Admission Procedure

The admissions will be offered through national level and state level entrance exams. Candidates must appear in any of the entrance exams. On qualifying the entrance exam, candidates will be called for counselling.

For providing admissions, the authority will conduct the GD and PI rounds. Candidates must also appear in the university level entrance exam for admission in particular university.

Entrance Exams

TANCET is a state level entrance exam through which candidates will get admission in MBA colleges of the state. The interested candidates can also apply for national level entrance exams and get admission in the top MBA colleges.

The entrance exams through which candidates can enter in the management courses are  CAT (Common Admission Test), MAT (Management Aptitude Test), XAT 2021 (Xavier Aptitude Test), CMAT 2021 (Common Management Admission Test), ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions), etc.

Tamil Nadu houses the numbers of management institutions. Some of the top MBA colleges in Tamil Nadu are IIM Trichy, NIT Trichy, IIT Madras, Amrita School of Business, SRM University, etc.

Candidates must fulfill the eligibility given below to sit in the written exam:

  • Candidate should possess the bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized institution/college.
  • The qualifying exam should pass with the minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates).
  • Candidates pursuing the last year of their graduation are also eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

The counselling will be organized after the written exam result. The seats will be allotted on the basis of rank of the candidates and GD & PI rounds.

The admissions will be followed by the counselling procedure. In the counselling session, candidates have to select the institutions and specialization of their choice.

The authority will publish the merit list based on the entrance exam. It is necessary to attend counselling to get admission in the participating institutions.

On the basis of entrance test score, GD and PI score, filled choice & availability of seats, the seat will be allotted to the candidates. Candidates can reach the allotted college after the allotment of seat.

    I did my engineering at Bangalore, but I wanted to do MBA in Chennai. So I asked my college for tc , but they said according to Karnataka rules, they will not give tc to the student , they will send go the institution only if they get the admission letter given. But in Tamil Nadu they don’t put admission with out tc. What shall I do now?
