NID Entrance Exam 2023: Allotment (Released), Result, Cut Off

This entrance examination is held to select eligible candidates for the various UG and PG courses in the field of design. The candidate will be selected based on a two-stage competitive test Design Aptitude Test DAT (Prelims) and DAT (Mains). The final merit list for the NID 2023 will be prepared by the authorities after the successful completion of both tests.

Shortlisted will be called for admission to NID. NID 2023 has three campuses in Bengaluru, Gandhinagar, and Ahmedabad. NID 2023 Result

The NID Result has been made available in the online mode on the website of the exam conducting authority. The result for the B.Des DAT prelim has been available from 16th March 2023 & it has been declared on 28th February 2023 for M.Des. Candidates need to visit the website and enter their login details to see the result.

The qualifying candidates for the prelim exam are eligible for a further round. The final result for the NID 2023 exam has been declared on 19th May 2023 for B.Des & 18th May 2023 for M.Des programmes. The final marks is calculated based on marks obtained by the candidates in the DAT prelim and mains.

NID 2023 Merit List

The candidates who will appear for all the tests in DAT Prelims and DAT Mains will be selected in the merit list. The NID merit list will be released through online mode.

The first merit list will be released after the DAT Prelims exam shortlisting the candidates for the main exam. The final merit list will be available category-wise through online mode on the website of the exam conducting authority.

NID 2023 Admission Process

The candidates who will successfully clear both the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains exam will be offered admission to the institute. Candidates need to submit the documents for the verification. After verification the admission will be given to the candidate. Seat allotment has been released for B.Des courses on 25th May 2023.

For the final admission, the candidate must have o report to the institution. The candidate will also have to pay the admission fee before the last date of admission to confirm their seat in the institution.

  • To fill out the application form candidate need to visit the website of the exam conducting authority.
  • The NID Application Form 2023 has been released from 22nd October 2022.
  • The application form has been made available in the online mode.
  • The candidate must check the eligibility criteria, test centers, no. of seats, reservation policy & all the information regarding the admission to B.Des, GDPA & M.Des programs.
  • The candidate will be required to register/signup online before proceeding to fill up the application form on the website.
  • Candidates need to fill in all the details in the application form such as personal information, educational qualification, etc.
  • Upload all the scanned documents in the application form in the prescribed format.
  • Application form can be submitted till 22nd December 2022.
  • Application correction has been started from 25th to 27th December 2022.
  • Candidates need to take the printout of the application form for future reference.

NID Admission Eligibility Criteria

For B.Des Program:

Age Criteria:

  • Indian Nationals (General & General EWS category): Candidates born on or after 1st July 2003 will only be eligible to apply.
  • Indian National Reserved (PWD category): Candidates born on or after 1st July 1998 will only be eligible to apply.
  • Indian Nationals Reserved (OBC-NCL, ST & SC Category): Candidates born on or after 1st July 2000 will only be eligible to apply.
  • Foreign National in Overseas Category: Candidates born on or 1st July 2003 will only be eligible to apply.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates who have passed or appearing in higher secondary (10+2 level) examination in Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities or any other stream from a recognized board or university will be eligible to apply.

For M.Des Program:

Age Criteria:

  • Indian Nationals (OBC-NCL, ST & SC Category): Candidates born on or after 1st July 1988 will only be eligible to apply.
  • Indian Nationals Reserved (General & General EWS Category): Candidates born on or after 1st July 1991 will only be eligible to apply.
  • Foreign Nationals in Overseas category: Candidates born on or after 1st July 1991 will also be eligible to apply.
  • Indian Nationals Reserved (PWD Category): Candidates born on or after 1st July 1986 will also be eligible to apply.

Educational Qualification:

  • Full-time diploma of 4 years duration in Design/ Applied Arts/ Fine Arts/ Architecture, after 12thstandard or equivalent to 12thstandard from any university or institute recognized by law in India.
  • Bachelor’s degree of 3 years duration in any specialisation after 12th level or equivalent to 12th class.
  • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree of 4 years duration in any specialization after the 12thlevel or its equivalent from any university or institute recognized by law in India.

NID 2023 Exam Pattern

Here we have provided the exam pattern for the NID 2023 examination:

  • Exam Mode: The paper is conducted through pen and paper mode.
  • Language of Paper: The language of the paper is English.
  • Type of Questions: There are visual and textual types of questions in the paper.
  • Marks: The paper is of 100 marks.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the examination is 3 hours.
  • Studio Test (M.Des DAT Mains): The exam is of 100 marks. The test duration is 3 hours in the English language.
  • Interview: After the studio test, the interview will be conducted separately.

NID 2023 Syllabus

The NID Syllabus 2023 consist of various topics including Comprehension, Knowledge and Visualization, Creativity, Memory Drawing, Drawing Skills, General Mental Ability, etc.

NID 2023 Admit Card

The NID Admit Card 2023 has been released in online mode. Candidates are able to download the admit card from 2nd January 2022 for the prelim exam. Admit card is available from 4th March 2023 for M.Des DAT mains exam. There is no admit card sent through post or any other offline mode.

The admit card can be downloaded by using their email address and date of birth. Details related to the exam date, venue, and centre is mentioned in the admit card. For DAT mains, candidates are able to download the admit card from 14th April 2023 for B.Des & 9th March 2023 for M.Des.

NID 2023 Answer Key

The Answer key for the NID 2023 will be released in the online mode. The NID answer key will be released by the authority after few days of the examination. It will be available on the website along with the question paper of all seats.

In case candidates find any discrepancy in the answer key, they will be able to submit the objections with the amount of payment per challenge. With the help of the answer key, candidates will be able to know the correct answers to all questions.
