TANCET 2017 Counselling

Candidates will get admission on the basis of the rank obtained by them in the entrance exam. The counselling schedule will be announced by the conducting body by a separate advertisement. The TANCET 2017 admission process will be started from May 2017. Candidates will be called for the counselling process on the basis of the rank list.

The admission procedure for the academic year 2017-2018 consists of the following two steps:

  • Appearing for the TANCET 2017.
  • Applying for admission to the admitting authorities concerned.

Documents Required at the time of Counselling:

  • 10th Mark Sheet (As a Proof of DOB)
  • Passing Certificate of 12th/Graduation
  • Qualifying Examination Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate

  • Character Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate


Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET 2018) will be conducted by the Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is organized for providing admission into ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan, MCA & MBA programme. This exam is a state level examination. The application form will be provided from the 1st week of May 2018.

TANCET 2017 Application Form

Candidates could fill the form only through online process only. The TANCET 2017 Application Form has been released through the website. The application form was available from 29th January 2017. Candidates could fill the form till 28th February 2017 (Extended). There was no need to send application form through offline mode. Candidates take the printout of the confirmation page and keep them for future reference.

Application Fee:

Candidates have to submit Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 for SC/SCA/ST candidates) as an application fee for any one of the programme. If candidates want to apply more than one programme they have to pay Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 for SC/SCA/ST candidates) for each additional programme through online mode only.

TANCET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to appear for TANCET 2017 are given below:

MBAPass Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years).
Secured at least 50% (45% marks in case of reserved category).
MCAPass Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) with mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduate level.
Obtained at least 50% (45% marks in case of reserved category).
MCA (lateral Entry)Pass Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) in BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) with mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduate level.
Secure at least 50% (45% marks in case of reserved category).
ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.PlanPass Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Obtained at least 50% (45% marks in case of reserved category).

TANCET Exam Pattern 2017

The duration of the entrance exam was 2 hours. For each correct answer 1 mark had been given to the candidates. For incorrect response, 1/3 mark had been deducted. The entrance exam of MBA & MCA was conducted on the same date but in different time. The entrance exam of ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan was held on separate dates.

TANCET 2017 Hall Ticket

Candidates can download their hall ticket from the Anna University Website (or via above given link). TANCET 2017 Hall Ticket was available from 14th March 2017. Candidate had to produce the hall ticket at the time of entrance exam and the admission process. If candidate lost the hall ticket after the entrance test, the duplicate hall ticket could be obtained after make a payment of Rs. 100 in the form of DD with the written request to:

FAQ’s (Most Asked Questions)

Answer: Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) has to be taken by students who want admission into MBA programmes offered by Anna University and colleges affiliated to Anna University as well as to some other aided and unaided universities.
Answer: TANCET is a multiple-choice test with 100 questions to be answered in 120 minutes (2 hrs). It also has negative marking of 0.33. The test is divided into 5 sections of 20 questions each like Reading Comprehension, Business Situation Analysis, Quantitative Ability, Data Sufficiency, Verbal Ability
Answer: A pass in any recognized degree with 10 + 2 + 3 years pattern. A pass in any recognised degree with 10 + 3 years diploma + 3 years pattern, A pass in all branches of B.E., B.Arch., B.Pharm, B.Tech. Candidates who have passed the qualifying degree course/ appearing for the final semester/ year examination of the said qualifying degree course during April/ May may appear for TANCET.

Answer: The registration for TANCET begins in April. The last date for online and offline spot registration is usually mid of April. Following this the candidate receives the Hall Ticket within a week or so. TANCET exam is conducted in the third or fourth week of May and by last week of June the result is declared. Following this the Counseling process begins by July. The seats in the respective courses are allotted in the colleges of Tamil Nadu affiliated to Anna University.

      Machi ,till now the AU doesn’t announced counselling in the tancet2017 the page in which you viewed the result itself will be a link in which you have to apply for counselling actual counselling will be held on Coimbatore!!?
