UGC NET 2026 Cut Off
UGC NET 2026 Cut Off marks will be released in July 2026 after the declaration of results. Candidates have to obtained the minimum cut off marks to get selected in the merit list. It will be made available only through online mode.
The merit list will be prepared category-wise and subject-wise for each subject. Only top 6% qualified candidates is considered for Junior Research Fellowship programme. Candidates must check the cut off marks after declaration of result.
UGC NET Expected Cut Off
Candidates must check the expected category-wise and paper-wise qualifying marks (according to last year) from the given below table:

Factors Determining Cut Off
The cut off marks are different for various papers. Various factors are taken into consideration for determining the cut off marks. These factors is as follows:
- Difficulty level of the paper
- Reservation policies
- Number of candidates appeared for the exam
- Number of Candidate passed the exam
- Availability of seats
- Marking scheme
UGC NET 2026 Result
UGC NET 2026 Result will be declared by the prescribed authority in July 2026 for June session. It will be released in February 2027 for December session. Candidates will be able to check their results by entering the application number and date of birth.
Candidates who get selected in written test, their roll number is mentioned by displayed NTA on their website. As the authority will declared the UGC results, the marks of the candidates will also uploaded on the website.
UGC NET 2026 Merit list
After the releasing of cut off marks by the prescribed authority, merit list will be prepared. Merit list will be prepared separately for JRF and assistant professor.
The merit list contain all the shortlisted candidates who have cleared the minimum cut off marks. Top 15% candidates from the merit list will be selected for the Assistant Professor position only from each category and subject.
A separate merit list will be prepared from the qualified candidates for JRF. The final subject wise and category wise merit list will be released based on all the papers given by the candidate.
UGC NET 2026 Counselling
After successfully qualifying the UGC NET 2026 entrance exam and cut off, the counselling process will be organized. Candidates will be required to submit the counselling application with certain documents. Also, processing fee will be submitted by the candidates.

Candidates must carry the original and photocopy of the documents mentioned below:
- Class X and XII mark sheets and pass certificates
- Degree and provisional certificate
- UGC NET 2026 Admit card
- Scorecard/ Rank card
- Counselling letter
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Passport size photographs
- Medical documents
UGC NET 2026 Cut Off marks will be released category wise and paper wise for the positions of Assistant professor and Junior Research Fellowship. Candidates who will secure the cut off marks, their names included in the merit list.
