GATE Exam Details
GATE is a national-level exam conducted jointly by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) including IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Roorkee and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, on behalf of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Which IIT Will Conduct GATE 2026
For GATE 2026, it is expected that IIT Guwahati will conduct the examination. Now, if you may have a question why it is expected that IIT Guwahati will conduct the examination, then it is because of a rotational system followed by the organizing bodies.
Looking back, the historical pattern confirms that this year the rotation is of IIT Guwahati. This IIT has conducted the GATE exam in 2010 and 2018, and is next scheduled for 2026.
Last year, the notification was released on 29th July 2024, and for the year 2024, it was released on 04th August 2023. For this session, candidates can expect the notification to be released between July- August 2025.
Any time, the GATE 2026 exam details will be released by the authority in the respective months. The mode of release of the notification will be online. Along with it, the authority will also release the GATE 2026 poster, which will have exam details followed by the information bulletin.
