Government Law College, Tiruchirapalli

Government Law College, Tiruchirapalli was established in the year of 1979. The college is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai & approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It is administered by the Tamil Nadu’s Department of Legal Studies.

Campus

The college campus is situated on the Race Course Road, Khajamalai, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. The college has world class infrastructure with separate administrative, academic & students blocks. The campus is spread over 13 acres of land.

Facilities

There is a hostel accommodation for girls with security & mess facility. The computer labs are well-equipped with the internet connectivity & modern technology. The library is well-stocked with the huge gathering of books, reports, projects, periodicals & journals. Other facilities offered by the college are: video conferencing hall, seminar hall, canteen, spacious classrooms with the LCD projector, moot court hall, sports, auditorium, etc.

Programmes

Government Law College, Tiruchirapalli imparts undergraduate & postgraduate courses in the field of law, i.e. Bachelor of Law (LLB), Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Law (BA LLB) & Master of Law (LLM). LLB is three years duration course, BA LLB is five years integrate course & LLM is two years duration course.

Admission

Those students who want admission into BA LLB Programme, they have to qualify their 10+2 or equivalent examination from recognized university. Students have to secure minimum 45% marks for General category & 40% marks for SC/ST category. For admission into LLB course, students have to complete their graduation degree (after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern). If students are interested to seek admission into LLM programme, they have to pass the three years or five years LLB degree course & secure at least 50% marks (45% marks in the case of SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination. The admission into these courses will be based on the marks obtained by the student in the qualifying examination.
