Indian Institute of Legal Studies (IILS), Darjeeling was founded in the year of 2009. The institution is affiliated to the University of North Bengal, West Bengal. The law courses are approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi.

Campus

The college campus is situated in Dagapur, Darjeeling, West Bengal. The college is well-linked with the road, rail & air transport facility. Bagdogra Airport is located about 8 kms away from the college campus. The nearest railway station from the campus is Siliguri Junction (about 4 kms) & New Jalpaiguri Station (about 10 Kms).

Facilities

The Institution offers facilities such as spacious & ventilated classrooms, legal aid, computer lab, games, security, canteen, moot court, seminar hall, etc. There is a fully air-conditioned library with a huge collection of books, reports, periodicals, CD-ROMs, legal databases such as SCC, AIR, Heinonline, etc. The Institution has a separate hostel for female & male students with the facility of Mess, medical, 24 hrs security, etc. The Institution conducts visit to the courts & acquaint the student with the court proceedings.

Programmes

Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Darjeeling offers three years Bachelor of Law (LLB), five years integrated programmes, i.e.  Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Law (BA LLB), Bachelor of Business Administration & Bachelor of Law (BBA LLB) & Bachelor of Commerce & Bachelor of Law (B.Com LLB).

Admission

Students seek admission into BA LLB, BBA LLB & B.Com LLB courses, they have to qualify their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board. Student age should not be more than 20 years (22 years in case of SC/ST/OBC category) as on 1st July of the same academic year. Those students want admission in LLB course, they have to pass the graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized university. The student age should not be above than 30 years (35 years for SC/ST Category). Students have to secure 45% marks (40% marks in case of reserved category) in the qualifying examination. The admission into these courses as per the rule of the university.
