VITREE 2027 Application Form
Candidates can get complete VITREE 2027 application form details:
- VITREE 2027 application form has been released on 17th August 2026 for January session.
- Candidates can submit the registration form through online mode.
- Before applying for the exam, candidates must go through the complete eligibility norms below.
- Enter the details such as personal, academic qualification, communication & other asked details.
- Now submit the prescribed amount of application fee using the available payment method.
- Upload the requisite scanned documents such as photograph & signature in prescribed format & size.
- The VITREE 2027 registration last date will be till 20th November 2026.
- Submit the form & do not forget to take a hardcopy of application form for further usage in admission.
Application Fee:
- Rs. 1200/- with GST is the application fee for every category candidate.
- There is only an online facility available to submit the application fee.

VITREE 2027 Eligibility Criteria

For Ph.D in Engineering Stream:
- Qualification: One with Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in the relevant discipline or equivalent such as M.Sc (Engineering)/ M.Sc (By Research)/ M.Tech (By Research) can apply OR
- Candidates with M.Sc computer Science, M.Sc (IT), & MCA degree holders will also be eligible to apply.
- Marks: In qualifying exam, one must score a minimum 60% marks (for all the year’s semester) wherever marks are awarded, or a CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where letter grades are awarded can apply.
- It will be mandatory for the candidates to have studied their previous degree (UG & PG) in the regular, full time mode for all research programmes.
For Ph.D in Design & Planning (Offered in Vellore Campus Only):
- Qualification: To apply, candidates with Master’s degree in Design/ Planning, M.Tech, M.E, M.Sc (Physiology), any master’s degree in Arts, Media Studies, Multimedia and Animation in full time.
- Marks: In the qualifying exam, candidates with 60% marks of a CGPA of 6.5, on a point scale are mandatory to apply for admission.
For Ph.D in Architecture & Planning (Offered in Vellore Campus Only):
- Qualification: To apply for admission, one must have a bachelor’s degree in Architecture/ Planning and a master’s degree in Architecture/ Design/ Planning/ Building Engineering & Management or its equivalent in full time.
- Marks: Candidates must score aggregate of 60% or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale wherever letter grades are awarded.
VIT Ph.D Admission Procedure 2027
The admission procedure of VITREE 2027 will be organised in two sessions i.e January and July. candidates can apply for admission in Ph.D programmes through VITREE 2027 entrance exam organized by VIT. Candidates will be able to participate in the admission procedure through online mode. GATE or NET scorecard will also be required for admission if applicable.
The process will consist of VITREE 2027 application submission, confirmation of PG qualifying degree, admit card generation, VITREE exam qualification, personal interview, Guide Selection, tuition fee payment, orientation programme, class commencement and document verification. VITREE 2027 exam will be held on 6th December 2026 for the December session.
VIT Research Entrance Exam (VITREE)
VIT conducts its own entrance exam to offer admission into Ph.D programmes. VITREE exam is a gateway for admission in various Ph.D/ Direct Ph.D and Ph.D (Deep Technology) programmes offered by VIT group of Institutions. VITREE 2027 exam will be held on 6th December 2026 for January session.
The university will release the admit card a few days before the examination. A total of 2 hours will be given to solve the exam. In the question paper, Multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked. For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. Question papers will be prepared in English language except any language subject.

VITREE Result 2027
The Result for VITREE 2027 will be released through online mode. On 21st December 2026, the VITREE 2027 result will be announced. Candidates will have to visit the website to download the result. One will be required to use their login credentials to access the result.
There will be no offline method available to access the result. Those qualified candidates in the entrance exam will be eligible for further counselling procedure. Candidates who are declared “Not Qualified” will not be able to proceed to the personal interview round. Candidates are suggested to keep the hardcopy of results safe for further usage in the admission procedure.
VIT Ph.D Counselling 2027
Those selected candidates in the entrance exam will be eligible to participate in VITREE 2027 counselling procedure. VIT Ph.D counselling (Personal Interview) will be conducted on 12th & 13th December 2026 for January session. Authorities will inform the candidates regarding admission through SMS or email.
Personal interviews will be the part of the counselling procedure. The interview procedure has SoP (Statement of Purpose)/ Research proposal, questions on Sop, Knowledge of relevant subjects, communication skills and research experience.
According to the AICTE norms, candidates having a valid GATE/ NET scorecard will be provided a scholarship. Based on the VITREE 2027 exam & Personal interview process, one will be selected for admission. Candidates will have to report to the VIT, Vellore in person in the month of January 2027 after getting the seats. For the verification process, one will have to carry the documents. Admission will be confirmed after submitting the tuition fee.
