JEST 2026 Exam Date has been announced. Exam will be held on 12th April 2026.  Check below to know dates. 

JEST is a National Level Exam conducted annually in Physics and Theoretical Computer Science at various exam centers. It is recognised by ANRF (SERB) as a National Eligibility Test (NET). Exam is conducted for two subjects namely, theoretical computer science/ neuroscience/ Computational Biology & Physics. After qualifying the exam, candidates will get admission in the various institutions through its scorecard.

JEST 2026 Exam Schedule

Candidates those wishing to apply for JEST 2026 will be able to fill their application form online. The filling and submission of JEST 2026 application form will be started from February 2026. The last date to fill and submit the online application form will be till March 2026.

JEST 2026 Admit card will be downloaded through online mode from the website. Candidates are required to download a fresh admit card. Admit card will be released in the second week of April 2026. The JEST 2026 Exam will be conducted on 12th April 2026.

JEST 2026 Application Form

• Application form will be made available from February 2026 on the website.
• Candidates are able to fill their application form through online mode.
• Candidates are advised to fill all the correct details in the application form including education, personal, communication, etc.
• Candidates must upload your scanned passport size photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
• Authority will also provide a correction facility to edit incorrect details (if any) in the application form in the first week of June 2026.

JEST 2026 Application Fee:

• Application fee can be paid through online mode using debit card, credit card or net banking.
• Application fee for JEST 2026 will be Rs. 1200/- for general category (Rs. 600/– for SC/ ST category candidates).
• Once paid, application fee cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

JEST 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to apply for examination must go through the complete JEST eligibility criteria:

• For Ph.D. in Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc: Candidates must have completed M.Sc. /M. E. / M.Tech in Mathematics and Physics.
• For Ph.D Physics: Candidates must pass M.Sc. degree in physics from any recognized university/ institute.
• For Integrated Ph.D. in Computational Biology at IIMCs: Candidates must have passed MCA/ M. Tech/ M.E. / M.Sc. in Science or in any discipline with good Mathematics skill and good knowledge in Biological subjects
