Official Consortium Tips for Preparing CLAT UG & PG 2026

On the official website, under the “CLAT Syllabus & Guide” section, the Consortium of National Law Universities has provided detailed recommendations for both UG and PG candidates to enhance their preparation.

Preparing for the CLAT UG 2026

CLAT UG assesses aptitude and reasoning along with some general knowledge. The Consortium recommends the following:

  • English Language: Practice reading passages from fiction and non-fiction to improve comprehension, vocabulary, and summarisation skills.
  • Current Affairs & General Knowledge: Keep up with contemporary events, international affairs, arts and culture, and historically significant developments.
  • Legal & Logical Reasoning: Develop the ability to identify rules and principles, apply them to scenarios, and critically analyze arguments.
  • Quantitative Techniques: Review 10th standard mathematics, focusing on ratios, proportions, algebra, mensuration, and statistical estimation.
  • Official Materials: Make use of guides, model papers, and online resources provided by the Consortium. Attend online sessions for expert guidance.

Preparing for the CLAT PG 2026

The CLAT PG is designed to test your understanding of various law subjects. According to the Consortium:

  • Study Important Judgments: Refresh your knowledge of landmark cases and the issues discussed in these judgments.
  • Know Legislative Provisions: Thoroughly go through the constitutional and statutory provisions, including historical amendments.
