CAT 2017 RegistrationCAT Exam Eligibility criteria 2017 should be checked by candidates before applying for the examination. Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level management test will be organized by IIM, Lucknow. Through this examination, students will get admission in various management programmes offered by IIMs, IITs, NITs and other reputed institutions. Here in this article, we are providing details regarding CAT Eligibility 2017/2018.

General Eligibility:

  • Students should have passed a bachelor’s degree from any recognized university or college.
  • In graduation, candidates should have obtained minimum 50% marks for general candidates and 45% marks for SC, ST & PwD/DA candidates.
  • The percentage of marks secured by students will be calculated on the basis of practice followed by the college/university from where candidates have obtained the bachelor’s degree.
  • Students appearing in the final year of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification are also eligible to apply.
  • Students appearing in the qualifying exam are required to produce a certificate from the principal/registrar of their college latest by 30th June 2017 stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification.

Qualifying Examinations:

Students have to qualify/appearing in any one of the following examinations to get eligible for CAT 2017:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ technology or BE/B.Tech equivalent examinations of professional Societies,    recognized    by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE.
  • Any qualification recognized by AIU, New Delhi, which is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree awarded by colleges/ universities recognized by UGC.

    sir I’m filling the form right now and in academic section I’m facing problem of filling my aggregate marks in percent. Why because in aggregate marks they are showing “nnn.nn” and when I’m giving “80.00” it is not taking. What to do now?

      YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO APPEAR FOR FOR CAT 2018EXAM BECAUSE THE APPLICANT MUST HAVE COMPLETED BACHELOR DEGREE OR COMPLETED ALL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA/FORMALITIES/PROCESS TO GET LETTER FROM THE PRINCEPLE OF THE COLLEGE OR REGISTRAR OF UNIVERSITY FROM WHICH YOU HAVE COMPLETED FROMALITIES FOR DEGREE LATEST BY 30TH JUNE2018 (THIS YEAR THIS DATE IS 3OTH JUNE 2017 HENCE NOT POSSIBLETO APPEAR FOR CAT2017) BESIDES THE MIN % MARKS REQUIRED IS 50% (45% FOR SC/ST CANDIDATES).

      DEGREE WITH MIN 50%MARKS IS THECRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY HENCE i DONT THINK YOUR SSLC MARKS COMES INTO PICTURE HERE THE CRACKING OF THE CAT MEANS YOU HAVE THE REQUIRED APTITUDE TO ENTER IIM HENCE I THINK CLEARING CAT WILL BE SUFFICIENT TO ENTER IIMS.

      I DONT THINK YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS YEAR (CAT 2017) BECAUSE THE REQUIRED QUALIFICATION IS DEGREE (WITH MIN 50% MARKS,FOR SC/ST IT IS 45%) AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PRODUCE THE ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE BY 3OTH OF JUNE 2017 FOR CAT 2017 CONDUCTED IN NOVEMBER 2017
      YOU CAN CROSS CHECK THIS WITH THE IIM WEBSITE ALSO.BUT YOUR PREPARATION FOR THE NEXT YEAR CAN START NOW BY NOTING THE SYLLABUS DETAILS. SUBJECTS, BOOKS OF STUDY ETC., WITHOUT COMPROMISING YOUR REGULAR DEGREE STUDIES.
