General Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must check their eligibility before filling out the IIT JAM 2027 application form.
- Nativity: Indian nationals as well as foreign nationals will be eligible for JAM.
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates applying for JAM must have Bachelor’s degree as a qualifying examination degree.
- Minimum Marks: As per the new changes announced in the eligibility requirement for IIT JAM, the percentage marks /CGPA/ CPI obtained in the qualifying degree is relaxed now to JUST PASS to be eligible to apply for IIT JAM 2027.
- In case candidates are promoted without a mark sheet, the promotion certificate or a document accompanying the promotion certificate duly signed by the Institute Head should mention the subjects taken in that semester/ year to evaluate the MEQ requirements for admission to a specific program.
- Foreign nationals having Indian degrees are eligible to apply, subject to admitting the policy of the Institute.
- Students are required to submit their proof of passing the qualifying degree by 30th September 2027.
- At the time of admission, all the admitted candidates are required to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form.
- During admission, the admitted candidates will have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the admitting institute.
- In case students are not found physically fit to pursue their chosen course of study, their admission is liable to be cancelled.
- Students must note that it is the complete responsibility of the candidates to prove that they satisfy the minimum educational qualifications (MEQs) and eligibility requirements (ERs) for admission.
- At any stage, the admission institute has the right to cancel the admission of candidates who are found to have been admitted to programme to which they are not entitled, being unqualified or ineligible under the rules and regulations in effect.
