This exam is organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA has scheduled JEE main 2026 on 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 28th & 29th January 2026 for Session 1. For Session 2, it will be conducted on 2nd- 9th April 2026 by CBT mode.

JEE Main Slot Booking 2026
In the past years, the exam dates for the students were decided by the CBSE. Now the responsibility of JEE Main is given to National Testing Agency (NTA) with effect from 2019 session.
The exam was previously conducted in CBT mode. Students are allotted exam dates, shifts and cities randomly by the authority. Students who are looking for slot booking process of JEE Main 2026 are informed that there may or may not be any slot booking process. In previous year (2023 & 2024), there was no slot booking process.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Shift & Timing
Complete details of JEE Main 2026 allotted exam date, shift and venue will be provided in the JEE Main admit card. As per last year, no slot booking process will be exercised for the JEE Main 2026 exam date, shift & timing. The students will be randomly allotted dates, centres & shifts.
Details of allotted date, centre, shift & timing will be mentioned in the admit card. It will be issued to the candidates for session 1 exam.
The exam for 1st session will be held from Between 21st and 30th January 2026 & will be held from 2nd- 9th April 2026 for session 2. It will be held each day in two different shifts (morning & evening).

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card
The JEE Main 2026 Admit Card will be issued to the applying candidates of first session exam. It will be released in third to fourth week of January 2026. Student must carry their admit card on the exam day to be eligible for appearing the exam. It is an important document without which no candidate will be allowed to sit for the exam.
Candidates will have to carry their admit cards with a valid ID proof. The valid ID proof can be candidate’s aadhar card, driving license, etc. Also, students must go through all the details mentioned in the admit card and follow them strictly.
All the details mentioned in the JEE Main admit card must be checked thoroughly by the candidate. In case of error in any of the details mentioned in the admit card, students must report to the concerned authority few days before the exam.
How to Download JEE Main Admit Card
Students must follow the given below steps to download JEE Main 2026 admit card:
- Visit the NTA website.
- Then, click on “JEE Main. 2026 Admit card” link.
- Login with provided login details.
- The admit card is then displayed on the screen.
- Click on the download /print option to get admit card.
- Keep the printed copy of admit card for further use in admission procedure.
Exam Instructions
Candidates must follow these given instructions during the JEE Main Exam 2026:
- Students will be not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, and Electronic Watches etc in the examination centre.
- Students must carry only admit card along with ID proof in the examination hall.
- Students must report before two hours from the commencement of the exam.
- Candidates should read the instructions carefully given in the admit card.

Can I wear leather jacket
There are no specific dress instructions for JEE Mains as such. Candidates must wear simple clothes and avoid accessories.
I have jee mains session 1 exam at 30/01/2024 and also the cbse board practical on 29,30,31.Is there any option to change the given date to 1 st February or 27 th january
