Admission Procedure

Students will get admission in medical/dental courses on the basis of the national level entrance exam. No state level entrance exam will be conducted for admission into MBBS/BDS course. Through NEET 2017, students will get admission in all private and government colleges in Chennai. The state colleges only have a permission to organize counselling process for admission into 85% state quota seats.

Entrance Exam

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is held in the month of May every year. NEET is regulated by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). On the basis of NEET score, candidates will get admission in all over the country.

MBBS Admission 2017

Candidates can fill and submit the NEET 2017 application form through online mode. The application form was available from the 31st . Last date to fill the form is 1st March 2017. The eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Candidates have to qualify the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Biology & Chemistry.
  • Candidates have to score minimum 50% marks (General category), 40% marks (SC/ST/OBC), 45% marks (GEN-PH) and 40% marks (SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH).
  • Candidate’s minimum age should be 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year.
  • Overseas Citizen of India and Indian National can also apply.
  • Appearing candidates can also apply for NEET exam.

Selection Procedure

It is necessary for all candidates to pass NEET examination for admission into all governments and private colleges in Chennai. The state universities conduct counselling procedure for admission into MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of NEET score. For 15% all India quota seats, the centralized counselling will be conducted. It is organized by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
