Admission Procedure

Admission in MBBS/BDS courses is provided through entrance test namely NEET-UG.  It is the mandatory examination that one has to appear for admission to undergraduate medical/dental courses. Candidates will be able to take admission on the basis of score in entrance test. Seat allotment will be done through counselling process.

Entrance Exam

To take admission in MBBS programme, students have to appear the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). CBSE is the exam conducting body of this exam. The entrance test of NEET was conducted on 7th May 2017.

MBBS Admission 2017

MBBS/BDS aspirants need to appear NEET for which they have to fill the application form. The application form was available in the 31st January 2017 and continue till the1st March 2017. Candidates can their eligibility for NEET from here:

  • Candidate should be an Indian Nationals or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
  • Minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST and 45% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH/GEN-PH category candidates).
  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 with PCB and English are eligible to take admission in medical courses.

Selection Procedure

To be eligible for admission in MBBS/BDS programme, it is necessary for the candidates to pass NEET. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) & Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) are the authorities that conduct counselling for admission to 15% all India quota seats. State colleges of Tamil Nadu conducts counselling for rest of the seats. Seat allotment will be carried out on the basis of candidates scores in entrance test. There are approximately 2172 MBBS seats in 19 Government medical colleges and 85 BDS seats in 1 Dental College.

Candidateshave to produce the following documents at the time of counselling,:

  • Domicile Certificate
  • Passing certificate & Mark Sheet of class 10th and 12th
  • Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ST category candidates)
  • Character Certificate
  • NEET 2017 admit card
  • NEET-2017 Score Card
  • Identity Proof

      Bcoz,if tn alone have got a stay from NEET by next year,all other states will be starting to fight against ordinance of govt,which they wont permit.
