Admission Procedure
Admission procedure will consist in various factors i.e. appearing in the entrance examinations. The admissions into 85% state quota medical seats will be done on the basis of NEET UG 2023 score.
Candidates who have secured minimum required percentile in the exam will be eligible to fill the application form of Odisha MBBS 2023. The candidates filling the application form of Odisha MBBS 2023 must verify their original documents to become eligible for the further admission process.
Entrance Exams
NEET UG 2023 is the national level exam through which admission in MBBS & BDS courses given in Odisha state. NEET is a national level entrance examination conducted one time in a year.
A valid score is mandatory for every candidate in NEET UG 2023 for admission into medical and dental colleges all over Odisha. This exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) each year. For admission into PG courses NEET PG, INI-CET and INI-SS examination is conducted.
Admission in AIIMS & JIPMER will now be done through NEET UG scores. After the declaration of result a common merit list will he released (Separate merit list will be declared for SC/ST/OBC candidates).

Odisha MBBS/BDS Admission 2023
Listed below is the eligibility norms that a candidate needs to satisfy in order to apply for Odisha MBBS/BDS 2023:
- Candidate must be of Indian nationality.
- Candidates must have obtained the qualifying percentile in the NEET UG examination.
- Candidates must be of 17 years of age as on or before December 31st of the year in which they are applying for admission.
- The candidates must be permanent native of the state of Odisha.
- Candidates who are children of All India Civil Service officers serving in the state of Odisha cadre need not fulfill the criteria of nativity and are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English from a board recognized by the Central/State government, passing in each of the individual subjects.
- The aggregate percentage of marks to be secured by the candidates is 50% (for unreserved category), 45% (for physically handicapped), and 40% (for the reserved category including PH reserved).
Selection Process
Based on the NEET Rank, the rank list for MBBS/BDS admission for Odisha will be prepared by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Cell (OJEE). Shortlisted candidates will be called for further counselling process. In the counselling, candidates will have to verify their documents & receive a document verification slip. Then they will need to fill choices for colleges according to their preference and based on their rank in NEET UG 2023.
The candidates will be called for the counselling at respective institutes as per their marks. Seats will be allotted in all participating institutes as per the rank of aspirants. The selected candidates will have to report to the respective institute to undergo medical examination by a Medical Board after which they will have to submit the required documents in order to be allotted a seat after verification of the same.
