JoSSA Seat Allotment Updates 2026: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the mock Mock Seat Allocation-1 on 8th June 2026. It will be available via online mode at josaa.nic.in. The registration & choice filling has been started on June 2, 2026.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) organises Engineering admissions into through JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

While JoSAA handles IITs and the NIT+ system, CSAB conducts special rounds for vacant seats after JoSAA counselling. The registration process for JoSAA 2026 began on June 2, 2026.

How To Check JoSSA Seat Allotment
Based on the candidate’s JEE Main/ JEE Advanced merit, preferences of colleges made by them, category, and availability of seats in an institute, the allotment list is released by JoSAA every year. JEE aspirants are required to enter their application number and password to check the JoSSA seat allotment 2026.

Below are the steps that you are required to follow to get the JoSSA seat allotment 2026:
- Go to the JoSSA official website josaa.nic.in
- On the homepage, look for “Candidates Activity Board” section.
- Select the “Seat Allocation Result for JoSAA 2026” link.
- You will be redirected to a login window.
- Enter the required details & click on “login”.
- JEE Main counselling round wise allotment will be displayed.
- Check and save for further use.

After the announcement of JoSSA seat allotment, registered candidates will be required to select one of the three options: freeze, float, or slide. Candidates are advised to select any of the options very carefully, as these options are not editable.

You may have already either frozen or floated a seat in a previous round. You will need to finalize your current seat or withdraw if you are not satisfied. If other technical issue, contact authority.
Dear Mam/Sir l am Abdur Rahman K applied for josaa counselling 2025 and l didn’t got any seat till round 5. Before counselling l paid seat acceptance fees Rs.30,000 so now can l get my seat acceptance fees back as no seat is allolted for me till round 5. Please find a solution for this problem. Thank you
The seat acceptance fee is refunded only if a candidate withdraws within the deadline or if the seat is cancelled due to non-payment or other reasons. Please contact JoSAA authority for clarification.

If you’re getting the same college in each round, it means it’s the best option available for your rank and choices. You can’t manually change it, but you can wait for the next rounds or try in the CSAB special round later.
12th board eligibility for OBC cast for IIts college
For IIT admission, OBC-NCL students need 75% marks in Class 12 (in 5 subjects) or be in the top 20 percentile of their board (OBC category). This is per JEE Advanced rules.
My st category rank is 9219 but in nit Agartala thir cutoff for chemical engineering is 25741 why didn’t I got alloted
If your ST rank is 9219 and the cutoff is 25741, it could be due to factors like preference order, quota mismatch, or seat availability in that round. Make sure to review your choice filling and category details in JoSAA.
