CAT Exam 2026: The Common Admission Test is known as CAT which is a national-level management aptitude test. It is conducted once a year for selection in B-schools.

Every year, CAT is organised by one of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on a rotational basis for admission in MBA and other postgraduate courses.

Which IIM will conduct CAT 2026? 

The CAT examination is conducted on a rotational basis by one of the 06 IIMs. For this year, IIM Indore is going to conduct the CAT 2026- 2027. Official details regarding the conducting body and the examination via the notification and information bulletin will be released in last week of July 2026.

The CAT 2026 registration will begin in the first week of August 2026. Applicants can submit the online application till third week of September 2026. There is no other mode than to apply for the exam.

CAT Exam Date 2026

CAT exam 2026 will be conducted on November 29, 2026 tentatively via online CBT mode. Examination will be held in 03 sessions – Morning, Afternoon and Evening. Detailed information about various CAT events will be announced on online website.

As per the CAT exam pattern, aspirants are given 2 hours to answer 68 questions. The questions are divided into three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension VARC Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning DILR and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).

There are 24 questions in the first, 28 in the second, and 22 in the third section. For each section, candidates will be given 40 minutes.
