AIPMT 2017All India Pre Medical/ Pre Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT 2017) is a national level entrance exam that is organized every year for admission in MBBS/BDS programmes. Now it is known as NEET Exam. It is managed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This exam will be conducted on 7th May 2017 (declared). Notice issued about 3 attempts in NEET for those who have made 3 attempts prior to 2017. NEET 2017 will be counted as 1 Attempt for all the candidates. Note:- We have written this article both in terms of AIPMT & NEET, keeping in mind that many students are still not aware of the fact that AIPMT has been replaced by NEET. Therefore we have used “AIPMT” to make the students understand that the exam has been officially replaced.

AIPMT 2017 Application Form

newiconThe AIPMT exam has been replaced by NEET exam as per the order of Hon. Supreme court of India.  NEET 2017  will be conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS Seats in all government, private & state medical colleges of the country.

AIPMT 2017 application forms was available through online process only. The form has been provided from the official website of the NEET. The application form won’t provide through offline mode. The application form of the AIPMT was available from 31st January 2017. In application form, candidate have advised to fill the qualification code, Center of Examination, category, exam medium, gender and Adhaar number carefully. There is no need to submit the application form through offline mode. Only one application form was accepted by the conducting authority.

Before the form filling, candidates make the following preparation:

  • Scanned images of the latest Photograph (size of 10 Kb to 100 Kb)
  • Signature (size of 3 Kb to 20 Kb)

Application Fee:

The Application form fee was deposited through the given ways: credit/debit card/net banking/e-wallet.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualification

Candidates have to fulfill the given eligibility criteria to appear in the AIPMT (now NEET). The AIPMT eligibility includes age criteria and educational qualification that is given here.

Age Criteria:

  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidates have to complete the age of 17 years or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Candidates may attempt NEET exam only 3 times until cross the maximum age limit as 25 years for general and 30 years for reserved categories. The attempt counting will start from the year 2017 for all the candidates. Check Details.
  • The upper age limit for the candidates who belong to Gen (UR) category is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the examination. There is 5 years relaxation for the Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) /Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
  • Candidates who belong to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K are not eligible for the 15% all India quota seats. Candidates of these states can appear in AIPMT only to get admission in AFMC, Pune.
  • Overseas citizens of India (OCI) candidates can also apply for the AIPMT.

Educational Qualification:

  • Appearing/Passed candidates of class 12th or equivalent exam are eligible to appear in the AIPMT.
  • Candidates have to appear or complete their 12th with PCB as a main subjects or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core subject for English.
  • Candidates have to obtain 50% marks in PCB taken together for General Category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH.
  • Candidates who can appear or qualify three years’ degree course (BSc) from a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including as practical subjects they can also apply.

AIPMT Exam Pattern

AIPMT 2017 will be conducted in single stage and consist of 180 objective type questions. The time duration of the exam will be 3 hours (10:00 AM to 01:00 PM). The entrance exam will be held only through the offline process (Pen & Paper based exam). Candidates have opted of English or Hindi question paper language. The question paper of AIPMT will composed of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

AIPMT Preparation Tips

AIPMT (now NEET) is considered as one of the toughest medical exams of the country. Every year, no. of candidates appears on this exam out of which very few candidates are able to crack this exam. To crack this exam, candidates have to prepare a schedule/timetable for exam preparation. Candidates have to focus on their health and stay positive, make a preparation strategy and time management.

AIPMT Syllabus

The syllabus of the entrance exam consists of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). It is based on the class 11th and 12th subjects and chapters. The syllabus of AIPMT will be prepared after analyzing the different states syllabi as well as those prepared by NCERT, CBSE and COBSE.


In AIPMT under 15% all India Quota seats, there is seats reservation for the candidates who belong to the SC/ST/OBC/PH category.

AIPMT Admit Card

Candidates can download AIPMT 2017 admit card from the official site of the AIPMT from 15th April 2017. Admit cards will not be sent by the post. Candidates will carefully examine the admit card information for all the entries made therein. The admit card will be provided by entering the registration number, D.O.B and security code.

Display of OMR Sheets

The images of OMR Answer Sheets will be displayed by the CBSE in the third week of May 2017 (tentative). It will be available on the official portal of the AIPMT. The conducting body will give an opportunity to the candidates to submit a representation against the OMR grading. As per response challenged Rs.1000/- will be paid. Rs.1000/-per response will refund to the candidate if the challenge is accepted by the Board.

Display of Answer Key

After examination, AIPMT 2017 answer key will be published on the official site. The answer key will be displayed in the last week of May 2017 (tentative). With the use of answer key, candidates will predict their minimum marks in the examination. In case of any ambiguity in the answer, candidates have an opportunity to challenge the CBSE against Answer Key. Candidates will be providing an opportunity to make an online challenge against the answer key on payment of Rs.1000/- per answer challenged. If the challenge is accepted by the board the Rs.1000/- per answer will be refunded to the candidate.

AIPMT Result

AIPMT 2017 Result will be announced in the official portal of the conducting authority. The result will be declared on 8th June 2017 (declared). The conducting body will not prepare category wise result sheet. After the result declaration, candidates will stay in touch with the websites of CBSE, Medical Counselling Committee, MOHFW and Participating Universities/ Institutions till the conclusion of the final round of Counselling.

AIPMT Cut-off

The AIPMT 2017 cut-off will be organized on the basis of the cut-off marks that scored by the candidates in the examination. The Cut-off list will be released by the CBSE board. The cut-off list will be set on the basis of how many candidates appear in the exam and the difficulty level of exam.

AIPMT 2018

All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT 2018) has been replaced by the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2018). From 2016, NEET has taken the place of AIPMT. Through this exam, candidates will get admission to the MBBS & BDS courses all over the country. It is managed by the  Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

AIPMT Merit list

The successful candidates list will be prepared by the board on the basis of marks that they scored in the examination. After making the merit list, the board forwards it to the counselling authorities for the purpose of the allotments of the seats. In case if two or more candidates will score same marks in the examination, the inter-se-merit of such candidates will be prepared on the given preferences:

  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the exam.
  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the exam.
  • Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the exam.
  • Candidates older in age to be preferred.

Counselling Procedure

After the result announcement, the counselling will begin within one week. The AIPMT 2017 Counselling will be organized through online process. The online counselling will be managed by the Directorate General of Health Services. Information related to online counselling will provide on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) site.
