UGC NET 2023 E-certificate & JRF award letter has been released on 27th February 2024. Result has been Declared. Cut Off has been released on 19th January 2024. Final Answer Key has been released on 19th January 2024. Exam is organized twice in a year in the month of June & December 2023. University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is a national level eligibility test which conducts the “Assistant Professor” or “Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor Programme” for Indian students. In previous year, both sessions exams were merged by the official authority so there was only one exam held in year 2022. UGC NET 2023 Answer Key
The UGC NET 2023 answer key has been published in two parts, i.e. provisional and final answer key. UGC NET Answer key is released from 3rd January 2024. Students can download the answer key through online mode.
An opportunity to submit challenge regarding the provisional answer key is provided by the NTA. Candidates have to pay Rs. 1000/- per question to challenge the answer key. Final answer key has been published on 19th January 2024.
UGC NET 2023 Result
NTA has announced the UGC NET Result 2023 on 18th January 2024 for December session. It can be checked through online mode only. The result for each session is prepared in the form of raw scores and percentile scores of total raw scores.
The candidates are not intimated by NTA about their result individually they have to check their result through the website. Any request regarding re-checking or re-evaluation cannot be entertained by the authority.
UGC NET 2023 Cut-off
The UGC NET 2023 cut-off has been announced separately for all the categories on 19th January 2024. UGC NET Cut-off 2023 is published by the NTA through online mode. Candidates will have to secure the minimum cut-off marks to qualify the exam.
The cut-off is prepared on the basis of various factors such as number of candidates appeared in the exam, availability of posts, difficulty level of exam, previous years cut-off trends etc. The expected cut-off will be given below:

The reservation criteria as per different category will be as follows:

UGC NET 2023 Selection Procedure
Candidates are selected for Assistant Professor and JRF on the basis of their performance in the UGC NET exam. After the declaration of result, no further rounds is organized for selection of candidates.
Only the successful candidates is considered for selection. Top 6% of the total candidates is declared qualify. Candidates have to score minimum marks in both papers to be eligible for the post of JRF and Assistant Professor.

UGC NET 2023 Application Form
Candidates must go through following details regarding UGC NET 2023 application form:
- UGC NET 2023 application form has been released for December session.
- Candidates are able to apply from 30th September 2023 for December session.
- The last date to submit the registration form is till 31st October 2023.
- The application form is made available only through online mode. No other mode is entertained to fill the application form.
- Authority has also provided correction facility to edit incorrect details (if any) in the application form for limited time period.
- More than one application form can not be accepted, so candidates must fill only single application form.
- While filling application form, candidates must not forget to upload passport size photograph & signature in the prescribed format.
- The registration form can be accepted only of eligible candidates so candidates are advised to check norms to avoid any rejection in the form.
- All important information can be sent to candidates registered mail ID & phone number, so it must be valid/working.
- Once all details are filled, candidates must not forget to take its printout for future use.
Application Fee:
- The application fee can be submitted via online mode.
- Mode of payment includes SBI/ Canara/ HDFC Bank/ credit card, debit card or UPI.

How to Apply for UGC NET 2023
- Step:1 – Visit the official website of NTA (Link is given above)
- Step:2 – On the home page, click on “Register Here” link.
- Step:3 – Fill details such as name, phone number, email ID, Aadhar number, Parent’s name etc.
- Step:4 – Now login using given OTP at registered phone number & email ID.
- Step:5 – Fill other educational & asked details and complete the procedure.
- Step:6 – Upload passport size photograph & signature in jpg format.
- Step:7 – Before submission, re-check all the given details in the application form.
- Step:8 – Now submit the application fee as per your category.
- Step:9 – Once fee will be submitted, a confirmation page will appear on your computer screen.
- Step:10 – Take its printout & keep it safe till the future use.
UGC NET 2023 Application Correction
Candidates can edit incorrect details (If any) in UGC NET 2023 application form via online mode. It is made available from 1st to 3rd November 2023 for December session. Candidates have to use their login credentials to edit details.
The UGC NET 2023 correction facility is the one-time opportunity for all candidates to rectify their mistakes in the registration form. Candidates are advised to edit details before the last date & not to miss the opportunity.
UGC NET Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must go through following details regarding UGC NET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:
- Qualification: Candidates must qualify master’s degree from any recognized board or university to be eligible.
- Percentage: Applying candidate must have scored minimum 55% marks (50% as OBC/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third gender) without round off.
- Age Criteria: For JRF, candidate must not be more than 30 years on 1.06.2023. An age relaxation of 5 years is given to reserved category candidates. There will be no maximum age limit for Assistant Professor.
- Appearing: Candidates appearing in final year in year 2023 are also eligible to apply for UGC NET 2023.
UGC NET 2023 Admit Card
UGC NET 2023 admit Card has been issued from 4th December 2023 (few days before examination). The exam city slip has been available to download from 1st December 2023 onwards. Hall Ticket is available only through online mode. Candidates have to enter the required details in order to download the UGC NET hall ticket.
Candidates have to bring admit card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the website and Photo ID proof at the examination hall. Candidates must check all details printed on the admit card, in case of any discrepancy contact to the official immediately.
UGC NET 2023 Exam Pattern
Candidates must check following points for UGC NET 2023 Exam Pattern:
- Exam Mode: The examination for UGC NET will be conducted via online (computer based) mode.
- No. of papers: There will be two papers in the examination.
- Languages: Candidates can choose any English or Hindi language to give the examination.
- No. of Questions: Question paper will consist of 150 questions.
- Question Type: The Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) will be asked in the question paper.
- Time Duration: Candidates can submit the question paper within 3 hours.
- Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, 2 marks will be given.
- Negative marking: There will be no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
