IIT JAM 2026 Application Form

- Apply for IIT JAM 2026 will be started from September 2025 on the website.
- Candidates will be able to complete the registration procedure via online mode, as no other method will be provided.
- To start the process, aspirants will have to register on JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System) by entering the basic information such as name, email ID, mobile number, etc.
- Enrolment ID and Password will be provided to the candidates after successful registration.
- Now candidates will have to upload the documents such as Photograph, signature and other requisite documents to complete the process.
- Applying applicants are advised to recheck the complete form once before submitting it on the website.
- Submit the form and keep it safe for further usage in admission procedure.
Application Fee:
- There will be an online facility available to submit the application fee.
- Facilities such as Net Banking, Debit card, Credit Card & UPI will be provided for online fee submission.
- Under any circumstances, the registration fee will be non-refundable.
- Applicants will be required to submit Rs. 300/- apart from the applicable difference in fee for changing exam cities/ Test papers/ category/ gender.

IIT JAM 2026 Eligibility Criteria

- Nationality: Indian as well as foreign nationals will be able to apply for exam.
- Physical Fitness: Candidates will have to show the Physical fitness certificate during admission.
- Foreign national with an Indian Degree will also apply for IIT JAM 2026 exam.
Eligibility Criteria for different courses is mentioned below in pointers:
- M.Sc. in Chemistry: Candidates with a bachelor’s degree of three years with Chemistry subject will be eligible to apply.
- Joint M.Sc. Ph.D. in Atmosphere and Ocean Sciences: Applying candidates must be graduated in any discipline with Mathematics and Physics with any one of the subjects i.e., Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Applications & Statistics, Geology.
- M.Sc. Statistics (IIT, Tirupati): One with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics or Statics subjects for at least 2 years will be able to apply.
- M.Sc. in Economics (IIT, Delhi): Those graduated candidates in BS, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Math., B. Stat.,B.Tech., BE, or equivalent from any recognized university will be eligible to apply.
- M.Sc. Biotechnology: To be eligible for IIT JAM 2026, candidates must have bachelor’s degree with courses from any subject/ branch.
IIT JAM 2026 Exam Pattern

- Mode of Exam: IIT JAM 2026 exam will be held through online mode.
- Duration: Total 3 hours will be allotted to solve the exam.
- Medium: English language will be available in exam.
- Type of Questions: There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), & Numerical Answer Type (NAT) asked in exam.
- Subjects: 7 subjects will be referred to test paper.
- Total Questions: In exam, total 60 questions will be asked.
- Marking Scheme: There will be -1-mark questions in MCQs section, MSQs section will consist of 2 mark per question and NAT section will contain one or two marks per question.
- Negative Marking: No negative marking will be there in MSQs & NAT sections. There will be a negative marking of 1-mark questions in writing answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted, for writing answer to 2 mark questions 2/3 marks will be deducted.

IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card
Admit card for IIT JAM 2026 will be released in January 2026 via online mode. There will be no other method provided to download admit card. Login credentials such as Enrolment ID/ Email Address and password will be required to access hall ticket from th website.
Details such as name, application number, photograph, exam date, time, venue, address, signature, and other details. Keep the hardcopy of admit card safe for the day of exam, as it will be required for the day of exam. Without having a valid hardcopy of admit card, candidates will not be allowed to sit inside the exam hall.
IIT JAM 2026 Answer Key
Candidates will be able to download the IIT JAM 2026 answer key via online mode. It will be published in February 2026. Appearing candidates will be able to access the answer key from the website of authority. Facility to challenge the answer key will also be provided in case of any discrepancy.
Candidates will be able to raise an objection against the answer key via online mode. It will publish in the form of PDF. After analyzing the raised objection, final answer key will be released.
IIT JAM 2026 Result
Authority will release the IIT JAM 2026 result in March 2026. Candidates will be able to download the result via online mode. At JOAPS portal, candidates will have to enter their login credentials to access the result.
No offline method will be provided to download the result. Authority will also prepare a merit list based on the result of IIT JAM 2026. After qualifying the exam, students will be able to participate in counselling procedure.
IIT JAM 2026 Cut Off
Candidates will be able to access the IIT JAM 2026 cut off via online mode. It will be released in March 2026. To check cut off list, candidates will have to visit the GATE portal online. Cut off is the minimum marks required to secure the admission in top IITs in India. IIT JAM 2026 opening and closing ranks will also be release for the respective courses.
Cut Off will depend on the various factors such as difficulty level of exam, seat availability, previous year trends and number of applicants.
